In 1972, John and Marilyn Monos bought what was previously an appliance store owned by Stanley Grelecki and turned it into St. John Pool & Auto Center. Before owning the business, John was a barber and Marilyn was a carhop at the Pow Wow drive-in (which they owned at the time). Started as a family owned business 44 years ago, St. John Pool continues to be run by the children of John and Marilyn today. Their sons install the pools that they sell and assist with service repairs while their daughter provides guidance on pool care in the store. The personal touches offered by the Monos family have kept loyal customers coming back year after year. Since then, many things have changed in the town of St. John, but one thing has remained the same: the Monos’ still offer quality installation and customer service.
